Milwaukee Engagement Photos | Lakeshore State Park, Hoan Bridge, and Third Ward

August 15, 2021

Can’t decide on just one location for your Milwaukee engagement session? Not a problem! With careful planning it’s possible to fit in quite a few – especially if you head downtown. One of the best parts about shooting downtown is many popular places are all within 5-10 minutes of one another.

Nicole & Jesse came to me with a big list of location options they loved. I recommended narrowing their list some (after all you don’t want to spend more time driving than taking photos), however, we we still able to accomplish quite a lot in an hour and a half!

We met at the iconic Hoan Bridge. This location is particularly cool because if you turn around, you can also take photos in front of the Milwaukee Pierhead light (the red lighthouse). After finishing up at the Hoan Bridge, we migrated to one of my favorite locations – Lakeshore State Park.

I love Lakeshore State Park due to its diversity. You have water views, views of the Art Museum and Discovery World, tall grasses, and bridges. This arguably is one of the most popular engagement session locations in Milwaukee, but if you (future couple) also inquire about coming here, I won’t be sad about it. 🙂

After Lakeshore State Park, we drove to the Third Ward to take a few photos in front of the Milwaukee Public Market. We also hit up a bit of the Riverwalk (entrance is across the street from the Public Market).

We finished this whirlwind of a session with Bloody Mary + Cheesehead photos. Nicole and Jesse are getting married at The Factory on Barclay (same building as the Original Cheesehead Factory), so this couldn’t be more fitting – and so Wisconsin! I absolutely loved this idea.

Nicole & Jesse – you both are so much fun and I enjoyed getting to know you better at your session. I’m looking forward to your wedding next year! Enjoy some of my favorites images below.
