If you’re looking for the best places to take graduation photos at the University of Denver, you’re in luck. DU’s beautiful campus offers a variety of backdrops, from historic architecture to tree-lined walkways and iconic campus landmarks. Whether you’re graduating with your bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, doctorate, law degree, or another graduate degree, the University of Denver provides plenty of memorable locations to celebrate your accomplishment.

As a Denver graduation photographer, I always enjoy photographing sessions on the DU campus. The campus offers a wonderful mix of classic collegiate architecture and beautifully maintained green spaces, making it easy to create a gallery with a variety of looks without traveling far. DU also holds a special place for me, too—it’s practically in my backyard, just a short drive from where I live.

Here are a few of my favorite University of Denver graduation photo locations:

1. Mary Reed Hall

One of the most recognizable buildings on campus, Mary Reed Hall is a must-stop during any graduation session. Its historic stone exterior, grand staircase, and ivy-covered walls create timeless portraits that never go out of style.

2. University of Denver Sign

There are multiple University of Denver signs around campus, but my favorite one is the fancy gate. Capturing a photo or two by one of the signs is the perfect way to showcase your school pride and commemorate your years at DU.

3. Williams Tower

Featuring a striking gold steeple, Williams Tower has become an iconic Denver landmark. The tower adds a unique architectural flair to any portrait and stands out beautifully in the Colorado sunlight.

4. Tree-Lined Walkways and Green Spaces

One of the things I love most about the University of Denver campus is how much variety it offers. The landscaping is beautiful! Throughout campus you’ll find mature trees, landscaped gardens, brick pathways, and open lawns that create beautiful natural portraits.

5. Any Location that Tells Your College Story

While the iconic DU landmarks are always worth including, some of my favorite graduation portraits are taken in places that are meaningful to each graduate. Whether that’s in front of the building where you spent countless hours studying, outside your academic department, or at a favorite spot on campus, these locations help make your graduation gallery uniquely yours.

One beautiful area I often recommend is the pond and landscaped green space near Iliff Avenue and the Daniel Felix Ritchie School of Engineering & Computer Science. The peaceful water and surrounding gardens create a scenic backdrop that feels less like a traditional campus photo and more like a beautiful Colorado portrait while still celebrating your time at the University of Denver.
