Villa Terrace Wedding | Milwaukee Wedding Photography

August 2, 2023

Yvonne and Tim’s spring Villa Terrace wedding was gorgeous! Yvonne told me before her wedding day that she was most excited to see all her friends and family in one place in a beautiful location. I 100% agree that Villa Terrace is such a stunning spot, but what stood out to me from her and Tim’s day was witnessing their sentimental personal vows to each other and learning more about their love story from their guests. There were so many special moments to capture.

The couple opted to host both ceremony and reception at the Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum. If you do not have a huge guest list, I think Villa Terrace can be a perfect reception spot because guests have the option of relaxing on the beautiful illuminated courtyard if they want to step away from the dance floor. Keep reading to learn the bride’s perspective on their wedding venue and wedding planning in general.

Are you engaged and searching for a Milwaukee, Wisconsin wedding venue? This is why Yvonne and Tim chose the Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum

“We have a very minimal vision for our wedding. We will not have groomsmen and bridesmaids and we do not plan on doing a ton with the venue space since it’s already so beautiful. We just want to capture the beauty and happiness of the day.”

What inspired your wedding decor? Did you have a theme in mind?

“We decided to use Villa Terrace as the focus and took a lot of cues from the space for all decorations. Since a lot of white and green surrounds the property, we decided to add little pops of orange into the flowers to compliment the terracotta. We wanted everything to complement the beauty of Villa Terrace instead of compete.”

Do you have any advice for future couples during planning process?

“I am a natural planner and never had a phase where I was stressed out about planning. I had a spreadsheet from day one with budget and vendors. I think it’s helpful to start getting organized early on so you don’t feel overwhelmed later. It was really helpful to pick out what was important to us and skip the other parts (ie. no bridal party, etc). Not having a bridal party helped with a lot of coordination. It’s your wedding – take what you like and leave the rest.”
