I know I may be slightly crazy, but I really enjoy shooting winter sessions. There is something so magical about snow and winter tones. This winter, I decided to step it up a notch and advertise for an adventurous winter session – an ice skating engagement or ice skating couples session. As a former competitive figure skater, I have always loved being on the ice and am quite comfortable on skates.  So, instead of donning boots and creating a slip-n-slide for myself and expensive camera equipment, I laced up my skates and glided around, capturing these playful images.

This session was shot at Tenney Park in Madison, Wisconsin. Tenney’s frozen lagoon is arguably one of the best places in Madison (and Wisconsin for that matter) to ice skate in the winter. Although its not Zamboni maintained, it’s a large surface and still allows for great skating. Thanks Allison and Mike for creating these fun images with me and coming out in below freezing temperatures for this mini session!
