Boerner Botanical Gardens is a 40‑acre botanical jewel. From the rose garden to the rustic rock garden and tree-lined areas adjacent to the arboretum, the composition possibilities are endless. I have photographed both weddings and engagement sessions at Boerner at various times of the year and while the florals vary by the season, you can’t go wrong!

For Jade and Ben’s summer engagement session, Boerner was in full bloom, offering the most vibrant backdrop you could ask for. We wandered through rows of bright flowers, found pockets of shade beneath mature trees, and took advantage of the soft golden hour light that filtered through the gardens. The space felt peaceful and romantic—exactly the atmosphere they were hoping for. The variety of scenery allowed us to create a gallery that was colorful, lush, and full of that carefree summer feeling.
