When couples tell me they want their engagement session to feel like them, that’s always my favorite starting point. Erica and Mike wanted their photos to reflect something they genuinely enjoy doing together—not overly posed or unfamiliar, but something rooted in their everyday life and shared experiences. So when they mentioned they were members at The Madison Club and had received permission to take photos there, I was immediately excited.
The Madison Club, tucked right in the heart of downtown Madison, has a classic and elegant charm to it. But even more importantly, it’s a space that means something to Erica and Mike. It’s a place they’ve spent time together and created memories—so photographing them there felt authentic and special. After capturing a mix of candid and composed shots around the Club’s interior, we stepped outside for more relaxed portraits around downtown Madison.
I always tell couples that engagement sessions don’t have to feel like a big production—they’re simply about capturing the connection you share, in a setting that feels meaningful to you. For Erica and Mike, choosing the Madison Club gave us the perfect backdrop to tell that story.
