Graduating from Colorado State University is a milestone worth celebrating, and there’s no better place to capture that accomplishment than on the campus where so many memories were made. This summer, I had the chance to photograph Alex and Zachary’s Colorado State University graduation photos. Although Zachary graduated in Spring 2026 and Alex will graduate in December, they decided to celebrate together with a combined graduation session in Fort Collins—a perfect way to commemorate both of their college journeys.

One of my favorite things about photographing Colorado State University graduation photos is how many beautiful locations are within walking distance of each other. We started at the heart of campus near the historic Administration Building in The Oval, one of the most recognizable landmarks at CSU. The towering elm trees lining The Oval create a timeless backdrop that feels unmistakably Colorado State, making it one of the most requested locations for senior portraits on campus. The Oval has been the historic center of campus for generations and remains one of the university’s signature gathering spaces.

We also made our way to the University Center for the Arts and the CSU Flower Trial Gardens. During the summer months, the gardens are filled with colorful blooms that add incredible variety to graduation portraits. The Annual Flower Trial Garden is open daily to the public during daylight hours and showcases hundreds of plant varieties, making it one of the most unique portrait locations on campus.

Congratulations again to Alex and Zachary on reaching such an exciting milestone! It was such a fun evening exploring CSU’s campus together, and I can’t wait to see what comes next for both of you.
